Darron
Well..............with so many food plot mixes and blends out there, I was a little overwhelmed. After talking on here and looking at companies on-line I think I am going to go with Pennington Seed's Refuge Mix. It is a mix of brassicas, clovers, and chicory. Anybody use this refuge mix? I plan on getting it in the ground by mid August. I went on seedland.com and they had the % on their website for this mix. 50% brassicas 41% Clover 5% Chicory From these %, I'll have a good stand of brassicas for fall/winter with the clover and chicory returning in the spring for turkey season. wtnhunt
Pennington puts out some good seed, have been happy with what I have used from them. If I was planning on planting something similar to what you are, would likely keep that mix and the one I mentioned from hamann farms in your other thread at the top of my list of considerations. dogdoc
Go buy a 50# bag of wheat to add to the mixture--trust me!
Darron
If I went that route, wouldn't I be better off planting Biologic Full Draw which contains wheat, annual clovers, and brassicas?
wtnhunt
I personally would not suggest the full draw. I have tried it and had poor results. The wheat is a good suggestion though and can be bought from a farm supply store or coop much cheaper than from biologic.
abbie
add cow peas to the mix, also from the coop.. you'll be shocked @ the results.
