longbeardfever4ever
hey everyone, my family is going on vacation this year to Millsite lake, Ny (15 minutes from alexandria bay) and the place is stocked with huge pike. the average size is about 30 inches but they have caught them MUCH bigger than that there. There is a Great population of lake trout, landlocked atlantic salmon, Largemouth bass, Panfish, and rainbow trout. There is also quite a bit of millfoil. I was just wonderin what i should use and where i should go for the giant pike. The lake is also Chrystal Clear! Thanks!
Texan_Til_I_Die
Pike are probably the easiest gamefish to catch. Just get some spinnerbaits with big (size 5 or 6) willow leaf blades and work the weed lines. Other good choices would be a Super Fluke or a big topwater popper like a Chug Bug. natethebowhunter
I would go with spoons(daredevils)....i like straight silver or gold...buzzbaits work well for topwater....also, if there are weeds try hopping a scum frog over them...you really dont have to go too big, just a good size...this year i have been drilling them on swim baits too....good luck
ny garyyamamoto
NORTHEN KING MAGNUM spoons work great usally find them in weedbeds just reel and jerk and stop once in a while make sure you use a big enough lure or a metal leader cuz they inhale the bait
