JimT
Re: New for 2005 Thanks AJ. The new Model Seven AWR caught my eye until I saw the price. Way to rich for me....MSRP of $1546.00. Ouch.

spyderpancake
Re: New for 2005 I don't know why they didn't go ahead and make it a .338 wsm. there are a lot more quality bullets in that caliber.
Shaun_300
Re: New for 2005 ya i was wondering that too. i never knew they tried to make a .338 WSM, i think the .325 will do better anyway.
AJ
Re: New for 2005 Winchester wanted a WSM that would shoot 200 + gr bullets in the 2800 + fps range for the larger big game. I guess Winchester looked at the typical ammo hunters were using in the .338 Win Mag and found they were using 200-225 gr bullets most of the time. Since they can get better ballistic coefficients using the .323" bullets vs the .338" bullets it will give the 325 WSM a slight advantage in downrange ballistics. It also would not suprise me if Nosler had something to do with it. The 8mm has never been too popular in the USA so anything that will help them sell bullets in that caliber, will help the bottom line. Personally, I would have rather had the .338" bullets. Since I already have 2 guns that shoot the .338" bullets, it will help my bottom line and make one less bullet I have to stock.
