Guest jward
Hey everyone, I am going to canada (Ontario) at the end of august bear hunting with my bow and am looking for a economical broadhead for bear. I am shooting a Diamond Rapture at 61lbs. with carbon arrows. What do you guys suggest for the tip. I also shoot 100gr. broadheads.
Gator
I really wouldn't skimp on a BH for bear, that has got to be one of the most important parts of the whole arrow. You won't something sharp, and strong. For a low draw weight as you are shooting, a good cut on contact head is hard to beat. I shoot Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts, and they are both SCARY sharp, and strong to boot. The buzzcuts are a little more than the reg stingers, but they are the same head, just different blade, buzzcuts are serated, while the stingers are not. Leo
Serrated heads are not legal everywhere. So make sure before you decide to go that route. 100gr heads are capable of taking black bear but the 125s do have an advantage when striking bone. A bears rib bones are more substantial than that of a whitetail.
hutchies
Aftershock Maniacs, Tremors, and Hypershocks are all great heads as well as all that have been mentioned. http://www.aftershockarchery.com/
elkhntnfool
I like the muzzy 3 blade 100gr. I sent one straight through the off shoulder of a muley last year. When they say bone crushing there not kidding. Just my two cents

fly
I've read a lot on this issue and have found a variety of opinions. Generally most of the information I've read states any typical whitetail set-up works for black bears. Most important thing in my opinion: hit where you aim. Second: use at least 55 lbs. I've never shot a bear, but have hunted them. I went with the Rocky Mountain Gator from Bass pro.
