elkoholic
Well, two years ago we had a new house built and had left the daylight basement unfinished and this spring we started the task of finishing it. We left the mechanical room and one store room basically unfinished, but did finish two bedrooms and a den/family room and added a small half bath. Managed to partly furnish the bedrooms and the bathroom is done with the exception of a mirror to be added and then the bank ran dry and the rest will have to wait. Have also managed to get a little more landscaping done. Along with the bank being broke, my back is shot too. Steroid injection next week and recover by bow season hopefully. Here's a few pictures. elkoholic
I will bore you with a few more pictures. The floors are laminate sitting on Dricore sub flooring and we went with a darker color in the family/den/rec room and a lighter maple finish for the bedrooms. The doors and trim turned out really good as I like the dark stain and I'm also a fan of knots and character in the wood. The bedrooms are 16x14 and 16x12. One thing I've discovered about building a house is that nothing is "square", even in a new house, and good trim work will hide a lot. elkoholic
The stain we used is Sherwin-Williams wiping stain and the color is LeAnn's Favorite. The color may be my favorite now.
