Darron
I went ahead and went with Green Patch plus. Cabelas was sold out of their 40lb bags so needing enough to plant one acre I bought two 20lbs bags, which cost me $5 more:rolleyes: With my $30 cabelas bucks, I still got a good deal on it. I'll let you guys know how it does. I plan on discing in the next couple weeks.

Tominator
PM answered--Tominator can give you good planting dates for fall plantings in Ohio! todd Depending on what's in the mix, I would wait until late August to early September. Don't know about the Cincy area, but we still have a lot of standing water in fields here. Incredibly wet spring and early summer so far. Darron
My plot is in Vinton County and the area I am putting my plot in drains fairly well since it sits on top of a ridge. With football I was hoping to get it in around the first of August, but after reading this I'll probably wait until mid August. School starts at the end of August, so I know that will be a no go. I'll be busier than a one legged man in a contest with teaching and coaching. I'll get it in when I can. If it's a little early so be it, at least I'll have something there. I just read on Biologics website that it needs 30 days before a frost, which tells me it should be palatable in 30 days after germination. If I broadcast the seed around the middle of August, it should me mature by middle/late September.

Chris--what Darrin is planting is a mix of wheat, oats, brassicas, and annual clovers. His bow season starts the last of Sept. I just know when you plant cereal grains too early they lose their palatability from the heat. I would think the last week of August would be a good bet but I don't know when you first average freeze is. I try to get mine in the ground 45 days prior to first average freeze.
