Sabathia to the Brewers

Decent move for both teams. Should make Milwaukee 1 of the top 3 teams in the NL and Cleveland gets some pretty good prospects........which will help them win nothing and then/than will eventually be traded away only to become superstars with other teams, but I digress.:D

You know Cleveland all too well. Let a Cy Young guy go only to sign a washed up hasbeen for more than it would have taken to re-sign CC.

Eric will set us straight though John, don't worry. :D

This is a "huge" loss for the Tribe.;):D:D

I like the deal. No way were they ever going to be able to sign him, so why not get something for him? From what I've heard about LaPorta, it sounds like he was one of the best power hitters in AA and that's a major need for their farm system/MLB team right now.

I thought he was going to L.A. for sure for DeWitt or LaRoche. The cupboard's most bare at 3B in the Indian's system, but I think they'll still add that Greene guy from the Brewer's single A club. He's only 20 year's old though and I was hoping for a more MLB ready 3Ber.

Chris- Cleveland isn't the only city that has to trade away or lose big name stars to free agency. However, Cleveland is the only city where the people think they're the only one's witha team who has that happened to it. When they traded Bartolo Colon, they got Cliff Lee (probably going to start the All-Star game), Grady Sizemore (20 HR 20 SB before the All-Star break and is in the HR contest), and Brandon Phillips (the 2nd best 2Ber in MLB). Lee and Sizemore were single A players at the time of the deal.

Of course, not ever trade is going to workout like that, but at least they got something for CC instead of watching him walk like ManRam or Thome and only getting draft picks for it.

I think LaPorta will probably be up with the Tribe by late August, early September and by next season he'll probably be moved to firstbase and take that away from the bust Garko.

Good deal for both teams.

That's why I'm here Chris. You handle the gardening questions and the "what type of bird is this?" stuff- I'll get the sports end- especially the "we're all cursed" Clevelander stuff.

Yep, Chris handles the garden and bird sightings, Eric handles sports, and I take care of all the deer killin'.:D

Nobody mentioned "big deer", just "killin' deer", AF.

Anyway, back in the 70's, there were big deer all over the place. It was hard for a person to not kill a biggun' way back when.....:D :D

33 yard shot, 22" spread, between a tree and sapling, excellent tracking skills, 152" gross.

:D

Talk about hijack.

Won't have to worry about that this fall, you're out. Good luck in Elnora's Bottom.....

Just so happens my schedule's wide open Tom, and with me, you won't have to hear "wow look at that orange-breasted speckled lark over there Tom! They're not native to this region, they must be migrating..."

;):D
