Bow help

Welcome to the forums! I take it your shooting a Parker bow? Cool, so am I! So will my daughter shortly!

I use Muzzy's for the broadheads, thinking about the Rage TWO blade this year.

Summit Goliath climber.

As far as clothing, anything from Cabela's! Their clothing seems to last the best so far. They hold there color, and they take the abuse I give them! Worth every penny!

Footware needs to be your first concern ;)

LaCrosse, Danner and Timberland make good hunting boots for mild weather hunting.

If it gets below freezing where you hunt Sorel pac boots are by far my number one choice.

Climbing stands are very difficult for some people. They are probably the safest option but if you can't climb with it, they are useless to you. Before you try one make sure you know how to use a safety harness.

Buy big lightweight camo clothing you can layer underneath.

With lower poundage bows, Muzzies are good heads. So are G5 Montecs, G5 Strykers, Razorcaps, Magnus Snuffers and NAP H ellRazors. Some broadheads will shoot better with your setup than others. So if you can borrow some heads and try them on a broadhead target before you buy a set. It's a good idea.

Treestand

Please , Please , Please, read the owners manual on your treestand. Then take it outside, along with your safety harness, and hook them onto a tree in your yard. Practice connecting, climbing, descending, and disconnecting the whole rig several times. Use the safety harness for the practice session too. No amout of fun is worth a serious injury. Congratulations on your deciding to enjoy the great outdoors. The wilderness is a magical place. You'll see many unique occurences that couch dwellers will only hear about second hand. Blessings

Some suggestions for broadheads are Muzzy, G5 (Strikers, Montecs, Tekans), Rage, Thunderhead...just some to try. For treestands, I've had good luck with Gorilla and Ameristep, but I haven't really heard many bad things with any. As far as clothing, I usually buy from Bass Pro or Redhead, but just make sure you get something that's quiet. I like fleece on the outside layer. Also make sure that you have something for an outer layer that's water resistent if need be! Since some other people commented on boots, I'll have to put in a good word for Rocky and Wolverine. I would highly recommend getting something with GoreTex (outer layer). These are just suggestions, so just shop around and you'll figure out what you like the best and what's most comfortable to you. One rule of thumb I've found to keep in mind is that, for the most part, you get what you pay for. That's not always true, so don't pass up a great deal, but you deserve to be warm and dry, so spend what you need to accomplish that! Good luck!

Take care,

Ryan
