kraabel2003
what do you guys think i should plant this fall for a hunting plot. I got like 2 half acres. I have heard alot about wheat, what do you think?
Tominator
If it's your first plot, I'd try a variety of things in little patches to see what your deer prefer. Deer around me will eat corn, beans, oats and things like that but leave brassicas alone for some reason. I had mixed results with clover too. Darron
If your property is not surrounded by corn and bean fields, I would try a mix of wheat, oats and brassicas. It seems like that is what everyone likes on here. If you are competing against corn fields, try some winter peas.

Think I would try a mix with wheat, oats, and austrian winter peas. Brassicas here just do not seem to be very attractive to the deer for some reason. dogdoc
25# oats 25# wheat 25# rye (if no try then 50# wheat) 10# winter peas 3# of a brassica mix Your oats will die after the first good freeze but are a great early attraction. All # are per acre. Fertilize well to make it more attractive. 200# of triple 13 at planting and then 100# of 34-0-0 about 2 to 3 weeks later.
