Shawn
What would you use as bait in a trap for gophers/woodchucks? I missed with once with the 22 and now when i go outside they take off. Any help is appreciated.
007hunter
Ive used slices of apple in the past. Just yesterday I cut the head off a sunflower, that had flowered and gone to seed, and put that in the back of the cage and had him in 24 hours. Apples would be my first choice though as they would seem to have more "smell" to them and would thus attract them from a farther distance. RangerClay
I was a DEC Nusiance Wildlife Control Officer for over 10 years. I used to stick carrots on the trigger of a 220 conibear. Make sure to peel them a little so they can smell it.

Adjam5
I could lend ya my son Joe and his Mathews DXT:D. He has shot 5 in less than 3 weeks here in our yard in Rockland. But as the others have said, apples are aromatic and will draw it to the trap. I have used apples/lettuce and cucumbers with much success trapping groundhogs in the have a hart live trap. We stopped using the trap, caught too many squirrels and started using our bows. Good luck with it. I know they can wreak havoc on lawns ans gardens.
