Looking for a little help...

Hey guys...We are needing a couple shotgun blanks for some training we will be putting on for work. All we need is about five or six rounds. I reload 12 guage shells for hunting and trap, and one of the bosses asked if I would be able to load a couple blanks. I am just wondering if this will be feasible. Will all I need to do is just use the powder and shotcup? Just curious if any of you made these or if you would just spend the 40 buck and buy a box of these. Thanks for your time.

well correct me if i am wrong, but you will need powder, shot cup and a paper wad for back pressure. if i am remembering correctly you can also use just a few felt/or paper wads for the blanks in place of the shot cup and it would be much safer as well.

I wouldn't try to load my own blanks. That could be a very dangerous proposition.

If you don't need an auto to cycle you could just prime some hulls and crimp them shut with nothing (no wad, no powder, no shot cup, NOTHING) in them. A primer by itself makes a pretty impressive bang.

Zoobear is right. A blank with a wad in it can kill somebody.

Actor Jon-Erik Hexum accidently killed himself with a "blank" in 1984.

Even loaded with blanks. They are still guns.

Gentlemen, I appreciate the information....I am fully aware of what a gun can do....lol.....These will be fired at a range into the berm training K-9's. Thanks for the info...We already purchased a couple boxes of blank rounds. Thanks again.
