texastrophies
Sources have reported that Tony Stewart will leave the Joe Gibbs Racing team after the 2008 season and become part-owner of CNC-Haas Racing with an official announcement expected as soon as this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. JGR is expected to announce it will officially release Stewart from his contract to drive the team's No. 20 Toyota, which currently runs through 2009. That move will allow Stewart to close the deal he is currently working on with CNC-Haas, with plans to run a two-car Chevrolet team. Speculation is that Stewart will bring fellow Indiana native Ryan Newman with him in the new venture. Mutliple sources report the Gibbs release announcement will come later on Wednesday with a formal press conference about Stewart's future plans held at Chicagoland Speedway on Thursday. Nick
GOOD! I knew Stewart wouldn't stay in a toyota any longer than he had to. Back to a bow-tie....That a boy Tony!
Chrud
Since his move to Toyota, every dirt car he's driven has still had the Chevy bowtie on it. Great to hear Tony will be back in a Chevy. The new "Stewart-Haas" team will get all their chassis and motors from Hendricks.

Wonder who is gonna be his teammate. I hope it isn't Newman!
MUDRUNNER
Figured it was just a matter of time. Chevy has been a pretty big part in a lot of Tony's other racing ventures. Definately a smart move on his part. Any word on his replacement at Gibb's?

You can bet there will be some interest from other drivers on getting a ride with JGR.
