texastrophies
Dropped my son off at the La Bandera ranch in South Texas yesterday for a wildlife management camp. It is a small ranch, I overheard someone say that they own about 14,000 acres and have another 54,000 under lease. That's close to 70,000 acres at there disposal for hunting. The lodge that he will be staying in is full of African game animals along all of the walls, with a few full body mounts, including an elk, buffalo, water buffalo, wildebeast and a cheetah dragging an impala or something similar into a tree. He has my camera and is supposed to take pictures of all of this. I pick him up thursday evening, so hopfully sometime over the weekend I should get some of his pic's and stories up. This place also sells deer, dove & quail hunts for those of you that would like to go. Here is a link to the website. Be sure to check out the Rates section. http://www.labandera.com/

nativetexan
What a great opportunity. When I was a kid I got to go to a week at the Y.O. ranch and I remember it like it was yesterday. Look forward to seeing the pics and reading some stories. I wonder if they take checks...

I hope he is not hunting, I don't think his allowance will cover that. Just a camp, although they are supposed to do some shooting.
