texastrophies
My son is going to be using my 280 for his elk hunt this year in Utah. I have been using 150 grain Rem. Core-Lokt Pointed Soft Point for deer and it shoot those well, but I was thinking I might need to step up to a better bullet for elk. Looking for suggestions for something that is available over the counter.
Texan_Til_I_Die
You can get the Federal Premium with the 160 gr Accubond, the 150 gr Nosler Partition or the 160 gr Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullet. Any of those bullets should perform well on elk, assuming they group out of your rifle. All other things being equal, I'd probably opt for the old reliable Nosler Partition.
