Just looking into a new set of binoculars. Looking at the Nikon monarch 10x36 or the Leupold Green Ring Olympic 10x50. I have leupold scopes and nikon binoculars now. Which is the better way to go. Both are great, just don't know which one is better. The leupolds are abouth $150 more. Any help would be great! Thanks

Most of the time with optics, you'll get what you pay for.

What you need to ask yourself is "what situations will I be using them in?" For example, I have a pair of 8x35 Steiners that I carry when I'm doing a lot of walking or if I need to see into heavy cover in low light. I've also got a pair of 12x50 Nikons that I use when I'm hunting wide open spaces and need to see a long way. And I regularly switch between the 2 depending on circumstances.

For me, weight and price were factors in my choice.

Going to Gander Mountain one day, I tried many brands and models, European brands included. Ended up going with the Bushnell Legends in a 8X32 glass. I couldn't find the huge difference between those or the European brands costing several hundred dollars more!! These are Phase corrected and water and shock proof too!! Test a pair!!

Hey Ryan: I went with the Leupold Green Ring 10x50. Little bit more money, but I have had such good luck with Leupold scopes that I figured I couldn't go wrong with their binos. Have only looked at a few deer out in the field, so I haven't had a good chance to test them.
