johnf
My contract was out on June 20th, but I've been going in every day from 8-4 every day working on this so I could see my band from a birds eye view. Don't know a lot of band directors that would attempt it, but I got it done last week and finally got it set today. Tomorrow I'm going to get in concreted into the ground. Next Monday my contract starts back. No vacation for me this summer. Video to come later, You tube is taking forever.

hammerforged
I agree with Steve, you must have one heck of a vertical move ;-). Looks great, as the father of 2 former marching band members, I know all of your efforts will be well worth it.
bfletch7441
That looks great! I would ask if you hire out, but I probably couldn't afford you. Ben
Born4it
Steve had it right! Longer ladder definitely! That's a pretty cool project that I'm sure you'll enjoy. Nice work...looks great! Take care, Ryan
toddyboman
Looks pretty good I think you need a rope ladder to climb up in that bad boy each day. Then you will be in great shape time archery season gets here :D You think you could make me one except in RT AP...I know a good spot we could sit it
johnf
The boss didn't want anyone to be able to get into it. It's about 10ft to the bottom of the ladder to the bottom cross beams. I'll have to carry a 14' extension to get up into it. It's also got a locking trap door in the floor. I figure the only way to get into it would be with a really big truck or grappling hook. Here is how we got it up. Photobucket couldn't handle the whole thing so I split the video up. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v497/bandmasterjf/?action=view¤t=tower1.flv http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v497/bandmasterjf/?action=view¤t=tower2.flv

nativetexan
I would say throw some wheels and a trailer hitch on that bad boy and drag it out to the woods when not directing! Nice job! Never know...There could be something profitable in that.

johnf
Anywhere near Conway? Did you know Jerry Fisk while you were in Nashville? Taught me everything I know about making knives. The name sounds familiar, but I didn't know him. We were in Conway today shopping. It's about 25 minutes from the house.
