I am looking into buying a new scent containment suit,I gave my scent blocker suit to a kid who is wanting to start hunting.I have had good luck with SB but am thinking about giveing SL a try.I know there are a lot of others out there also and am looking for suggestions and imput from fellow hunters.I am thinking about the SL coveralls so I can slide them on over my winter hunting clothes as well as wearing them with shorts during warm weather.Any imput and knowledge would be appreciated, thanks.:D

I have and use both. From my personal experience, scent blocker, works better. I had a doe at 5-6 yards directly down wind of me while wearing scent blocker. She knew in her mind that someone had been there at one time as she was a bit nervous but, I think the scent was so faint that she took a few more steps enabling me to have fresh backstraps for supper that night. ;) I can't honestly say I have the same results with scentlok.

I vote neither. I used HS scent stuff for years and never got busted even feet away sitting on the ground. I got a scent lock suit last year and can't say that it works any better. I do think it works, just not better. With the HS stuff I can be cool and comfortable and not get busted. I got the lightest scent lock suit and couldn't stand to wear it if it was more than 65 outside.

I don't see any point in wearing something that makes you sweat like a horse to try to stay scent free.

I agree! I also use the Dirt Scent Wafers. Deer get real close!

Not really so sure about the scent lok stuff either, still not had enough experience with it to say if it helps. Last year was my first year using any type of scent containing clothing, and I did not have any deer get any closer than what I had in the past using good scent precautions. Years past I had several occasions where deer came in from unexpected directions on the downwind side and they never knew I was there.

I don't think it matters which you pick. Scent Lok owns the technology patent that Scent Blocker uses and gets royalties off of all their sales. Therefore, I would assume that both are very similar in make and both would accomplish the same means. I currently use Scent Lok Baseslayers and haven't been picked off yet.

I tried to find it but I cannot right now. There was once thread on AT entitled, "Biggest Waste of Money" or something like that. I bet more than half of those who responded said, "Anything Scent Blocker or Scent Loc". Just last week on NA Whitetail Magazine TV, I saw Stan Potts got busted in his fancy Scent Loc Suit. I could clearly see the brand of his suit on the hood.

Keep your clothes clean, don't pump gas or eat breakfast in your hunting clothes, watch the wind, spray down with scent elimination spray and you will be just fine.

I haven't ever used SL, but SB seems to work ok. I don't know if I would swear by it, but a couple of my buddies used to. So I bought a few things, and none of us think it's really that great anymore. I'm pretty sure that after a while it wears off, and few people have dryers capable of reaching temperatures to "reactivate" the carbon.

Good luck!

The clothing probably doesn't matter - if you don't take care and make your body as scent free as you can. My husband and I use scent free soaps and shampoos, we have our basslayers under clothing ALWAYS - and we spray down with scent eliminator as soon as we are out of the vehicle. I have never had a deer pick me out - even on those hot days when you're sweating because its 70 degrees in October!!! We have switched to the Silver scent eliminator sprays - we spray our shoes, hair (well, mine anyway), bows, backpacks, everything. We definitely use a scentlok headnet though!!! For me, especially because of my hair, and to keep your breath contained. Good luck whatever you use!!!:D

I have used scent blocker for two years now and it seems to be "working"

They say forget the wind just hunt, well even with the scent blocker on i never skip the wind check. I have had does and bucks come in downwind of me while wearing it, but the quality of bucks were hunting on our property there is no reason to "forget the wind"

I think all of the scent blocking suits work to a point. After that its back to the basics. Just my 2 cents.
