ThethirdI
Well it was sad news from the Toledo Speedway this weekend with an accident that created a casualty. Sometimes AdvantageTimberlou comes down with a team and races here. I was glad to here that this wasn't his team, but still saddened that someones hobby turned deadly . http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/8359386?MSNHPHMA

AdvantageTimberLou
Prayers go out to that family. Very sad incident indeed. Our team was competing in Michigan Friday night but often race at Toledo Speedway. That track is very fast and things happen in a hurry. The class he competed in was the Super Modifieds and they estimate he was going around 110 MPH or so. As some said that were there Friday night, the accident didn't look all that bad but more often than not, its those accidents that are the worse. Prayers go out to his family and race team. God Speed Terry!
BR44
Those backend crashes are almost/even more dangerous than the front impacts. My brother was at Texas a few years back (87 or 88) on the crew for Sam Schmit (IRL-Treadway Racing) who was testing and the car slid out from under him and backed into the wall, messed up his spine and put him in a wheelchair. Sam's still in racing, owns a Indy Lights team. As a racer though (raced Mini-sprints for 10 years), you know the risk is there. You agree ATLou? Hearts & prayers to the family and friends for their loss...
AdvantageTimberLou
I do agree, when we strap our driver in you say a little prayer and hope for a safe race for all 24 racers taking the green flag. These guys know the risks and if your in racing you know that addiction that keeps you going back even with all the risks.
Chrud
Prayers for his family. I can't imagine what his family is going through. I still remember standing next to our driver's dad on pit road last year when our driver got into a terrible crash, only about 50 to 75' in front of us. As nervous / worried as I was, I can't imagine how his dad felt.
MUDRUNNER
Man, that stinks. Prayers for his friends and family. It doesn't matter if your racing at a 1/2 mile dirt track or a 2 mile speedway things happen quick.Racing communities are pretty tight and stuff like this is hard to deal with.
