Guest splitg2
As i have been practicing latley i hit just fine at 20 30 and 40 yards but when i back up to 60 my arrows are all in a group to the left 6 inches, so i adjust my pin so that i hit on and then i am a few inches of at 20 30 and 40 what am i doind wrong. I think it may have somthing to do with how i am gripping the bow Anyone have any idea:confused:
Ambuscher
I'd stop at 40 yrds. Personally I would shoot over 30 yrds. This is a long ways when you are in the woods. Anything over that and your asking for trouble. JMHO
The_Kat
is your 60 yard pin the same type and the same length and same size? my 50 yard pin is a touch fatter and I shoot a lil left with it. I've not heard of shooting X's at 40 and then left at 60. I could see ya shooting high or low, but not left or right. Could be mental too, any flinch or mistake at that distance is alot more noticable that far out. I'm sure someone here will have a clue though bud. One more thing that could be happening.....make sure your arrows are flying straight and not pitching or flipping. At that distance it could be make your point pitch left. m gardner
Start out at 60 yards and see if the same thing happens. If you are tired by the time you get to 60 tired muscles may be causing shooting form problems. Mark.
hutchies
Your level. If you are canting the bow at all it will shoot right or left is more than likely what is happening. The further you shoot downrange the worse it will be. Also as somebody said earlier if you are getting tired you maybe pulling those shots. Canuck2
Do check the above suggestions and see if they make a difference. Also, depending on the style of your sight, your 60 yd pin may not be exactly aligned with the other 3; it won't take much of a difference to be a few inches off at that distance. I assume that you're moving the whole gang to be on at 60 and then finding the others hitting off. You'd need to move just the one pin. When target shooting at 60 yards or more - or even less, for that matter - what hutchies said is important. Make sure you're holding your bow exactly vertically. Tony
it could also be your rest is slightly out of alignment and are only seeing the differance at 60 yards. again like ambusher said if your setting up a hunting rig, 40 is probably good. but if your a competition shooter, then you better check your rest out to 80 yards.
