Rhino
I set one of my trail cams on this summer food plot that's about 400 yards from the one where I caught these bucks during the 1st week of July. I posted those pics recently. They sure filled out some in 2 weeks or so. As pretty as this 10 point looks it doesn't look like he'll be a legal buck to harvest on our club this year. Based on the 2nd pic he just isn't wide enough. I doubt his main beams will make the cut when they fill out either. He's probably a 3 year old buck and he'll be entertaining to watch if he pays me a visit this fall. Anyway, hope he makes it through this coming year. He'll sure be nice next year. Now as crazy as it may sound that the 10 point probably isn't a legal buck on our club, this buck (looks like he'll have 7 points) is legal. He'll easily make the cut on spread. He's obviously (from the size of his belly) older than the 10 point too. I think I can get a youngster a shot at this one if he keeps moving around during daylight hours. Next run this coming weekend.

Rhino
Gotta love those daylight pics. That's been a pleasant surprise. I've honestly been getting more daylight pics than evening pics. That hasn't been the case in past years. Hopefully they'll stay on that pattern at least through the first couple of weeks of bow season. It was full just the other day, so based on your date stamps it would have been waxing gibbous. Anyway, good looking deer Alan. Good luck. Rhino
Full moon pattern? It was full just the other day, so based on your date stamps it would have been waxing gibbous. Anyway, good looking deer Alan. Good luck. Thanks Chris. Got the same high percentage of daylight pics at the other food plot 2 weeks ago. Only difference was I got 166 pictures at this field and 223 at the other field over the same number of days. Only 7 of the 45 pics I still have saved from the other spot were at night. That would seem to throw out the moon's effect but it's that time of the year when there's no pressure around either. First pic I still have saved at the other field was 6/30 and the last pic I have saved there was 7/9. Check out the dates of the pics in my previous post Chris. wtnhunt
Some great potential in the 10 point there Alan, great you have a club with guys willing to pass on a 3 year old like that. Around here with the brown its down mentality of the neighboring hunters, we just dont see many deer make it to 3, we are still a bit selective though. Maybe it is just me, but that 7 point looks to have weak mass for an older deer too.
