Guest matt_tibbit
I'm hoping to put in some late season food plots this year...why late? Because I've never been a huge fan of food plots until I got the privilege of hanging out with Realtree Prostaffer Mike Wheeler this past week (Mike, who has killed over 20 Pope and Young Deer, swears by them). My problem is our land has a lot of hogs and cows on it. I can easily place the plots outside of the cow's range. But the hogs will definitely be able to get to them...I'm wondering what type of product should I use (wheat, clover, etc.) and is there a product that hogs won't touch? HELP! dogdoc
no product that pigs won't touch. The love to root up the freshly planted plots and eat the seeds and new seedlings. I've had my fair share of damage by hogs until I went on a hog obscession and cleaned them out of my place.
abbie
my favorite product to keep hogs out of foodplots is a Federal Premium 30-06 165 grain boattail...does the trick every time.
