Sugar beets

My dad planted sugar beets and turnips at my family's farm down by the river and i was wondering when would be the best time to hunt that area?

Thanks for the help:):D:)

Was there a guy living in a van down there?

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I don't have any experience with beets, but with the turnips I hear the deer will turn on to them after a frost when they sweeten up. Keep your eye on them and if you notice the deer hitting them, I'd be hunting that spot.

my step dad also in the U.P. of michigan plants his own beets and we will go out and use an old potato picker to turn them over just before we start getting good frost...(like with in a few days, even if it is opening day of hunting season as it was last year when we did it)...the frost will start brings the sugars of the beats out, i have noticed that if u go out with a hatchet and chip the beets up...split them get the smell about...the deer seam to like that, i'm not sure how it will work with them still planted but if you can chip some i would do it but if you get a snow or frost like pretty heavy frost thats when i would be there depending on size of the plot (amount of beets) once late season gets here might be good.
