Baptism (funny video)

i liked it. god gave me a good sense of humor and i dare say jesus had one too. i see no disrespect there, and obviously the minister and congregation did not either. now, if that kid were not playing and not smiling, and splashed back out of vindictiveness, i'd agree with john. but all i see is good humor.

hey, john. i've got this "works every time it's blown" elk call i'd like to show you...

Not amused.

The child obviously doesn't understand the significance of baptism. I don't know what I would do if that were my kid, be mad or cry for my failure.

If baptism symbolizes one's willingness to be reborn, washed clean of sin and to become Holy, I guess a young boy being that enthusiastic to experience it is a good thing.

Santa still sucks though.

Wow. Did not expect that type of response from such an innocent video. Not sure if I should cry or just forget about it.

My daughter was baptized 2 weeks ago and it was a very moving, very spiritual moment for her and all of us. We wanted to make sure that she knew and understood it's significance. I think it should be a reverent experience like taking Communion. To me this would be like flipping up a Communion wafer and eating it like popcorn.

We are a very humorous family and laugh and play a lot at home and in public, but I just think there are times that should be taken more seriously. To me one's public profession of faith and baptism should be among those times.

You guys know me well enough to know I'm sticking to my original opinion.

So there.:p

Oh yeah. Santa isn't real:D

John, you shouldn't let man-made ideas like rituals or the manner or level of seriousness you perform these rituals come in the way of your spirituality. These are only done for the sake of others, people worrying about what the rest of the congregation may think in other words.

That's not what spirituality should be about. Your path to God is through your own heart. The rest is just the man made BS bud.

And you're right! Santa isn't real! We should have all crazy ideas like this banished and removed from our society. That reminds me- I'm gonna get that darn Easter Bunny too!! Cursed rabbit...running around with that smug look on his face, making kids happy. His days are numbered, if it's the last thing I do. Muhahahahahahaha.
