Shawn
How do the rest of you feel about this? To me its just adding fuel to the fire. With the way peta is goin and other anti-hunting organizations are in uproar I myself find it unnecessary for an indivisual to post a video on another website of you shooting a varmint through a window into your backyard. While the father video taped it. Not for nothing i know these two are going to get offended but owell. These people dont need to see videos like this on the internet. It makes us all look bad. I'm not completely sure of the regulations on gophers/woodchucks in Ny but i use a trap, I did try a conibear with no success and have just stuck with a have-a-heart. I know one fact though, in Ny a bow or firearm is not to be fired within 500 feet of a building or dwelling, for sure not inside the building. Come on guys, use some common sense before videos like this are posted on the net. Sorry if the rest of you think im wrong, but thats my honest opinion. Tominator
I could give a rat's behind what peta thinks, and I think you should handle this through PM's. These kind of posts just seem to start fights that aren't really necessary.

The_Kat
who gives a rats chapped butt if peta likes it or not. As long as it's legal post it if ya want. Thats the rules here. **** if it ticks peta off we should post it everyday!
stevebeilgard
i'd do it solely to offend peta. if it's legal, do it. they are just rats anyway. i personally think the way to handle peta is the "in your face" approach.

Also agree with dealing with this through pm's. Some places these types of pests are nuisances. I have shot yotes out my back sliding glass door, never taped it, but still whacked them. They are legal here year round.
ruttinbuc
Whacked this little hole digging son-of-a-vegetarian from my upstairs kitchen window with my bow....Wish I would have had it on video. Lets not patronize these peta people.
Tominator
Did some looking around: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/28182.html Discharge of Firearms and Bows It is illegal to discharge a firearm or bow: so that the load or arrow passes over any part of a public highway, within 500 feet of any school, playground, or an occupied factory or church, within 500 feet of a dwelling, farm building or structure in occupation or use unless you own it, lease it, are an immediate member of the family, an employee, or have the owner's consent. You may hunt waterfowl, over water, within 500 feet of a dwelling or public structure as long as neither are within 500 feet in the direction you are shooting And woodchuck are termed as "unprotected" in NY and the way I read the following, it's perfectly legal to shoot these pests. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/27801.html Protected Wildlife In New York State, nearly all species of wildlife are protected. Most species, including endangered species, songbirds, hawks and owls are fully protected and may not be taken. The few unprotected species include porcupine, red squirrel, woodchuck, English sparrow, starling, rock pigeon, and monk parakeet. Unprotected species may be taken at any time without limit. A hunting license is required to hunt unprotected wildlife with a bow or firearm. You are free to voice your opinion about peta Shawn, but calling out another forum member when they were fully within the law is not cool.
