My mother in law, who is 83 years old, fell today and broker her hip and tibia. They are doing surgery soon either late tonight or early in the morning. My father in law, 84, has some moderate dementia and can't be left alone. Things are very hectic right now, my wife was on her way home from their house, about 2 hours away, when it happened. She's gone back up to be with her mom and help take care of her dad. I'm driving up tonight to get the kids, but the transmission in our car is slipping pretty bad, but I've got to get the kids so she can take care of her parents.

Please keep us all in your prayers.

Thanks guys. It's a little after 1AM and I'm back home and have put the kids to bed. Decided to take my truck even though it only gets 12mpg. Didn't want to risk getting stuck with the kids in the middle of no where. Mother in laws surgery will be sometime tomorrow. She has a brake almost across the entire bottom of her hip bone going through the socket and her a clean break in her tibia. My wife is optimistic, but we both know what that kind of break means to a person of her age. I do hope and pray she recovers.

Thanks again for the prayers.

Surgery went well today. They put a pin in the ball to hold it together and used a plate on her pelvic bone. Really didn't understand why they didn't just go ahead and do a hip replacement while they were in there. Doctor said recovery will probably be about 6 weeks but will know more Monday.

On the bright side Luke, our 3 year old, went accident free all day for the first time.
