texastrophies
Why do the hunters whisper on hunting shows, after they shoot a deer, either with a bow or especially with a gun, and they are filming in the stand? It annoys me when you can see they are talking but you can't understand them or hear them.
buckee
I am the same way when I am in the bush. I am always whispering or at least trying to be quiet when in the woods, even after the hunt, or if I'm not hunting at all. For me, it is because I don't want to break the silence of the woods and in the case of making a successful shot, I don't want to ruin the silence of the moment. I can only imagine, it's the same for the pros. ......well, some of them ..LOL
Guest Finn
Yeah, I wonder that myself. Don't mind if it's loud enough to hear, but it's tough when it's so quiet you can't make out what they're saying.
stevebeilgard
i'm generally whoopin & hollerin myself... lol. i think they feel it adds "drama". like a good killing shot isn't drama enough.

Also, just in case there are other hunters in the area! But I seen a few shows where the camera man had a tag, they switched positions and the camera man bagged a deer. Tominator
LOL--yep, hate that too. Or the guys that wear full camo and sit in those shooting houses.
ruttinbuc
LOL--yep, hate that too. Or the guys that wear full camo and sit in those shooting houses. That really drives me nuts. The whispering may just be habit after having to whisper most of the time while hunting and filming....
doubleA
Gosh, you ought to see the stuff that doesnt make to the final on air showing. Lots of video that's not used and wasted and then all the re-enactments re-do's etc. The money or kill shot only takes seconds where as walking up to the game, trailing, looking excited, talking with the guide, hawking the latest greatest product that your sponsors are giving you..... can take hour(s). Remember alot of these guys/gals are just paid staff members and not actors/actress's. Getting back to the subject I just can not stand people doing all the laughing and high fiving hooting and hollering. Guess it's just me but I'll give our God the credit for giving me a chance to hunt and providing the game with a prayer and then retreive the game and so on. That's fine and dandy, but on a lot of these shows, a rifle was just shot, I don't think whispering is necessary. I don't see anything wrong with the high fives and celebrating the taking of an animal, to each their own.
stevebeilgard
LOL--yep, hate that too. Or the guys that wear full camo and sit in those shooting houses. well, we're about to have a dozen blinds full of guys in full camo. . i don't know if it truly is necessary, but it is a big part of my daily wear. the less left to chane, the better. anyone coming on the antelope hunt next month should have some camo.. buckee
well, we're about to have a dozen blinds full of guys in full camo. . i don't know if it truly is necessary, but it is a big part of my daily wear. the less left to chane, the better. anyone coming on the antelope hunt next month should have some camo.. You have to wear camo just to get to and from the blind, without tipping anything off to your presence . Besides, I've been had by game even wearing camo, sitting in a blind. And besides all of that, I love my Realtree Camo.
Tominator
well, we're about to have a dozen blinds full of guys in full camo. . Yeah, but there's a difference between a blind and a shooting house.
wtnhunt
Don't know Jeff, maybe it is habit. When my daughhter goes with me, we typically whisper the majority of the time we are out. I have not filmed many hunts yet, but I like to sit and watch after the shot while waiting to get down, never know what else might come along. BowJoe
I know I am pumped as all get out when I shoot a deer. If not for that excitement, I wouldn't be bowhunting every season. I would simply gun hunt for 7 days out of the year and take as many does as I can and leave everything else. If I am alone, I am on the phone before I even get out of my treestand texting my buddies and waiting for around 30 mins or so. If I'm with my friends or a friend, then I am slappin high fives and huggin'!!! I try to stay quiet in case other deer are around but only when bowhunting. I don't see the need to alert deer 500 yds away that use the same area. I like to use the same areas throughout the season, so I get my deer and get out as soon as possible. I usually don't even gut my deer in the same area so i can get out without scenting it up to use later. To each their own but I don't criticize others for their reactions. After all, you don't know their back story or their personality as to why they react the way they do.
