Guest smacky
i think that i might try making a small food plot with "SECRET SPOT", and i was wondering how you keep deer from over-grazing a fresh new food plot that is small in size that doesn't and won't have alot of food in the plot cause of plot's size? and my other question is what do you use to spray weed killer to kill off the weeds before starting your plot? wtnhunt
I use generic roundup(glyphosate) prior to planting to kill weeds. Really don't know about keeping deer out of your plot other than using one of the plot saver type deals. There are sprays that are suppose to work and then there are also the barrier type. Texan_Til_I_Die
To keep the deer out until the plot is ready, buy a cheap portable radio, hang it in a tree, tune in to a 24 hour talk station, and turn up the volume. Once your plot is ready to graze, go out and take the radio down.
MUDRUNNER
I've heard of people cutting up Irish Spring soap and putting it around the plot to keep deer off.If there are a lot of crops around for the deer to eat, you may not need anything.
