bluelund79
I bought a 30.06 Savage 114 less than 1 month ago, and 2 range sessions later, the lugs were shot loose. Yep, in less than 120 rounds, the entire action shot loose. Needless to say, I am glad my son was not there as he would have learned some new words. It started with the bases coming loose, fixed those, then the entire grouping opened up, and I gave the waepon one more look through, and the entire action/barrel freely moved. I gave the lugs a snug with an allen wrench, but I am looking for the torque value, so it can be done right, then I get to spend even more cash re-doing the work that has already been done...Anybody else ever have this happen, and does anybidy know the torque specs to a long action/non-magnum Savage 114. Wood stock, blued finish...Think I hit all the specifics. thanks in advance, Eric
bluelund79
Anybody with some help on torque specs???? I have found a couple answers on line, but would like to hear if anybody else can verify them? Hand tight plus 1 half turn was one, and the other was 25-30 in lbs. Can anyone else verify this? Thanks in advance....Eric

bluelund79
Thanks bro, got it done w/ loktite and went back to the range...None the less, back to sub 1 in groups with 168gr Ballistic Silvertips and 1 in with the Winchester Power Points for general shooting purposes....Glad it was a simple fix, I love that gun!
