backyard bucks...

Got up this morning, and had a couple nice bucks in the backyard again, I grabbed my camera, slowly slid the sliding door open a few inches, and popped off a few pictures. Both are great looking bucks...the first one looks like he's older than the second one to me, but I am definitely no expert at judging age on the hoof. Any of you able to help me figure that out?

Here is the first one...

Couple of really nice bucks there. Shooters for sure. Would guess the first buck is older, would guesstimate him as a 4.5 year old, think the second buck from your pics is a little tougher to call and even though he has nicer antlers is likely only a 3.5 year old deer.

Wow, you have some great genetics there!! I've aged quite a few deer for the US Fish and Wildlife Service and I would have to say the first buck is 3 1/2 and the second is only 2 1/2!!! 2 more years and you will have some absolute monsters...That second deer may have potential for 200 inches if you let him get old enough.
