BowtechTurkeyHunter
Ok here's the deal Kathleen donated her 30-06 with scope and everything to be donated for auction to help our good friend Steve out. Now the winning bidder not only will get the rifle but they also will get a plane ticket up to the Realtree moose hunt up there in Alaska next year and you will also get the first shot at the moose. So bottom line if you were planning on going on the moose hunt next year here is your golden opporunity to go up there. Here is a picture of the rifle The opening bid for this rifle will be $1000.00 Winchester mod. 70 (Featherweight)- .30-06.. -basically brand new...I got it this past March, put a Nikkon Team Primos BDC 3x9 on it...mounted with high 1" quick release rings... Now remember that you buy the rifle for however much it goes for but Kathleen will buy your plane ticket to Alaska for the Moose hunt and you can stay in there B&B. All the money will go to Buckee Remember what we are doing this for its to help a forum member out who has had a pretty long run of misfortune ... So who is going to step up to the plate and start off the bidding on this very generous offering by our good friend in Alaska Steve Before anyone mentions it the rifle will be sent FFL to FFL. Someone is going to be very lucky to get this. Here's to you Kathleen! Ben

texastrophies
Uh-oh. Can we get a little more info on the moose hunt, i.e. dates, license cost, are license OTC or draw? Since the rifle is tied in with a plane ticket, that info is really needed also before someone spends this type of money. Do you take plastic?????:D:D
texastrophies
OK, I have answered a couple of my questions, I think. NR license $85 NR moose tag $400 Haven't found the availability yet, but it looks like the season is generally in the Aug/Sept time frame, depending on which unit the hunt is in. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

wtnhunt
Wow, what a generous donation, that is awesome. Way to go Kathleen. Too bad I just spent my stimulus check on the browning a short while back.
texastrophies
Just so you know what all Kathleen is contributing here, a plane ticket on Alaskan Airlines from Anchorage to Seattle (which is where it looks like most of the flights make a stop) is quoted as being over $570. Then she is throwing in a beautiful rifle/scope combo and letting you stay at her B&B. Not to mention first dibs on a critter. My math ain't real good;), but I would say she is getting into it close to 2 Grand and probably over that number once everything is settled out. WAY TO GO, KATHLEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D
Hoosierbuck
Add to Texastrophies math: Memories from an Alaskan hunt...PRICELESS I am not kidding there, either. HB

texastrophies
Kathleen, I think you worded that just fine. Being that she is doing this auction on her own, with no compensation whatsoever, I think her wishes should be honored on the bidding requirements of 100 post count and a member who has been with us. FWIW, anybody clicking the link Tominator posted that is interested in just the hunt, start reading on page 20. If you want one laugh after another, start reading on page 1. BowtechTurkeyHunter
Nothing needs notorized Kathleen your word is good here ... I was trying to find a way to word it that we just wanted The RT family to be eligible for this but wasn't sure how to do this without stepping on toes. This auction isn't just about getting a deal on a gun its about helping a fellow forum member out by way of another forum members generosity. Someone is going to get a great deal on this rifle and hunt package. Steve

JJL
Good grief this hunting is getting expensive. I just sent Buckee $1500 so I could take my son antelope hunting in Wyoming. I guess I could send him another $1200...........that's a bid folks.

Great opportunity for someone here for sure. Not the best time for us, schools here start the second week of August. If we had someone to watch our 3 daughters and our place here, I would try to find a way to come up with the funds, but we really just don't have anyone we can count on. Far as the rifle goes, if it were me, would not hurt my feelings for you to hang on to it until we were able to get there. Sure there is a range somewhere nearby to get in a little practice with it.
