Texan_Til_I_Die
You'll see a slightly different reaction from rural Texans! I think 99% of us are praying that the storm DOES hit Texas. We really, really need the rain.

We really, really need the rain. Exactly what he said. We are hurting for rain. Hope that statement doesn't come back to haunt me. :D:D batten down the hatches. are you going to stay around and enjoy the looting??? lol. (rememberances of katrina. that's EXACTLY why all those folks were there) No, not going anywhere. The house is about 100 miles from the coast, and work is about 60, so I will be here tomorrow. Although if it follows it's current path, it will come right over me, but I am sure that will change considerably by the time tomorrow gets here, it always does. texastrophies
11:40 am, a little heavier, but nothing more than a normal rain shower. Kind of expected a little more out of this thing. Think I will put the picture taking or at least posting on hold until it becomes worth it.

coorsdrifter
We have company coming. Edouard is supposed to be here tomorrow morning. http://www.intellicast.com/Storm/Hurricane/Active.aspx?storm=1&type=track Had the privilege of driving in the storm this morning, all the way from Lake Charles to Baytown. Finally said heck with it and stopped for few hours to try and let everything pass. When I called my customer they said not to even bother coming in today,as their lot is flooded and they don't have any power. So,now get to stay the night at one of the fine Baytown truck stops.
texastrophies
Saw on the news where a truck (not an 18 wheeler) lost control went in the ditch and rolled, between Wade Rd & Thompson road which is where the 3 big trucks stops are located. All in all though, it wasn't much of a storm from what I could tell, we ended up with about a 1/2 inch of rain and the strongest wind we had was maybe 10 mph. And I would say from looking at the path the eye went within 5 miles of us. I guess that is a good thing.
