stevebeilgard
....I hope you don't mind my feet picture...-lol-...I think we might have made crossings over the Gerstle River, and July Creek at least 35 times...-and that was prior to the raft trip at the end, that almost cost us our lives... did i mention that i have over 40 years experience as a foot massager...:D:D (a guy will say anything for a sheep hunt... lol but it's true...) texastrophies
Excellent pictures. Can't wait for the rest of the story & pics. Glad you made it out, might want to take SteveB up on his suggestion next time. A plane sounds like it would give you a lot more time to hunt and a little bit easier ingress/egress. :D:D

A plane sounds like it would give you a lot more time to hunt and a little bit easier ingress/egress. :D:D Folks the area Kathleen and Terry were hunting was foot traffic only after the season comes in. No planes, quads, not even horses! That's why they had some of their stuff dropped ahead of time by float plane before the season came in. It was either that or carry it all in. aksheephuntress
Abosuletly not a problem on the gun end Kathleen, I would like to see her connect with one before she has to give it up. Steve tell her I wish her well, being a central Illinois gal herself!!!!!!!! ...thankyou, Kirk-... -and Happy Birthday... -I was impressed that you remembered my origions, and wanted to point out to other forum members, the interesting and ironic coincidence of the fate of this rifle.... -I never actually resided in Illinois...-but, both my mother and father were born and raised in Springfield, Illinois....they were H.S. sweethearts.... -my grandmother still has the catfish farm there , on Jefferson... -my mother was the Sagamon County Fair queen(1962??) -The RT moose hunt 2009 will be here before you know it....Congradulations, Kirk...-and Happy Birthday!:)

fly
This is the first time I've noticed the sheephuntress has been back in the forums. Yea! Great pictures. I love the one with your rifle and the mountains. No doubt a truly remarkable accomplishment. I felt for you when you said it broke your heart not bringing in a ram. I know my spring Idaho bear hunt fails miserably in comparison, but I too had a similar feeling. My second time hunting bear and I really wanted to bring home a bear this time. I tried everything, hunted hard, and learned a lot (as you and Terry did). Ya know the fastest animal in the world (the chettah) only has a successful kill one out of every ten hunts. Next time.
