Tominator
Their food and raft stash were at 63 degrees N 38.27 minutes, 145 degrees W 18.00 minutes I tried looking it up, but I guess I was typing everything in wrong. Just got it a little backwards Sherm. Search on this: 63 38.27 n 145 18.00 w

wtnhunt
That flash earth would be great, if not for the cloud cover blocking the view.

buckee
UPDATE; Monday Aug 11, 12;15pm Kathleen called a while ago, in good spirits, with lots of optimism. They are now about 6 miles up July Creek, from where their dropped raft is. They are just making base camps, as they go. She said they saw a few sheep, but they disappeared over the top. She is surprised they haven't seen more up there, before now, so they are planning on hiking back down July Creek, to the supply drop point, and then heading up the Gerstle River, which will take them up the other side of that same mountain range. They figure they are now approx 22 to 23 miles from the Alaskan Highway, where they came in from. Kathleen said getting up that 6 miles was extremely treacherous with plenty of really steep areas. They had to cross the creek around 5 times, just to get that far. She said the highlight so far was when 2 owls followed them for quite a ways, before leaving them. She's got her eye open for Mr. Griz still too, she said, because she "has a score to settle "..LOL She feels good, and is having a great time. She is one tough cookie. buckee
UPDATE; Tuesday, Aug 12 I got that feeling... I may be wrong... They'll find him today and get him tomorrow I had that same feeling Leo, as a looked over the terrain on Google Earth last night. I was even looking at the same place she saw the sheep today. Kathleen just called 12;10pm (11;10pm her time) They are back down to Base camp, where the raft is, and a few hundred yards up the Gerstle from there now. She was down in the river washing some socks, etc, when she called She is excited now, because they have spotted about 34 sheep across the valley up around 4,000 ft. Lots of yews, lambs and Rams They are planning a stock up there tomorrow, because they figure it's going to be at least a 19 hr trip, both ways if she is successful, and they'll need the full day, so they can get back down, so as not to freeze to death. They don't have but a few days of food left, so it's now or never. It is going to be treacherous getting up to where the sheep are at, and then back down again, but she is pumped. (please pray for their safety;)) Kathleen said there is a whole family of snowshoe hares hanging around camp , keeping them company too. She mentioned near the end of our conversation, how dangerous, awesome, and humbling this trip has been even up until now, but now the hard part starts. I think tomorrow is the day. She said, she may not get a chance to call tomorrow, depending on "how, when, and if" things pan out. But I will be in here, with an update, whenever I hear anything.
