nativetexan
You know...I have a real hard time with as long as we have soldiers in the field, that Congress is on vacation. A 5 week vacation no less. How pompous can our members of government possibly be to think that their job is so difficult to warrant such a lengthy vacation when some of the hottest topics that need decisions made on them are sitting on the table. Did Congress take 5 week vacations during any other of the major conflicts in our nation's history? I'm asking because I really don't know. It kinda makes me sick to my stomach. Rant over. stevebeilgard
let's face it. our congress (and most of our elected officials) thin they are waaaaay above the average person, and that we "owe" them. they brazenly give themselves huge raises, health benefits we can only dream of, and take take take. i'd like for everyone in washington to have one 6 year term, with no chance of re-election. and no cushy retirement plan. Strut10
Pretty ironic that congress is going on vacation with fuel prices at a level where many American families can't afford to go on vacation.......with an energy bill sitting stalled all the while. The dumocraps need tarred & feathered.......every one across the board. wtnhunt
Kind of think the president should call them back from their vacation/"recess". Pelosi has made it pretty clear that she has no intentions of working with the administration on this issue. Here is a link to an article that may help answer your question http://www.c-span.org/questions/weekly58.asp.
