craig mack
Well my wife and I are being sued by my mother in-law. It stems from a car accident in which my wife was driving with her sister and mother as passengers. They were broad sided by another car and they roled my wifes Jeep. The police determined that my wife was at fault, saying she ran a red light. My wife, her mother and sister all said at the time that the light was green and it wasnt her fault. But other witnesses said otherwise. My wife broke her hand in the accident and my sister in law was a little banged up but nothing major, my mother in law hurt her hand (now she is saying that she had a head injury). My sister in law called me when it happened and I rushed to the scene, which was close to home. When I got there they were just trying to get my wife and her sister out of the Jeep and my crazy mother in law was screaming at the cops that the other driver was lying. I mean she was acting like a nut job!!! I had to yell at her and remind her that her two daughters were still trapped in the Jeep and maybe she should worry about them and not whos fault it is. This happened like 3 years ago and now I feel she is just trying for a money grab. I have never liked her but I have always been respectful and have helped her out financially when no one else would. She doesnt work (she's on dissability for having reumatoid arthritis) and I think she is just looking for a payday. I think that my insurance should cover it, I hope. But if it doesnt, we have nothing as far as assets. We got into some pretty heavy financial trouble around the same time that my job was cutting back, so we are making just enough to get by. So there isnt much for here to get from us but it just makes me so mad that this is happening. Sorry for the long rant but we just got served the papers and I'am beyond mad right now!!!

That just ain't right. I just bowed my head and prayed for God's justice in this case, and hope for the very best outcome, for all concerned, buddy. May the Lords justice reign in this situation.
VermontHunter
Don't even go there with me with family issue's .. :( I've been dealing with some family issue's and the courts for abit now ... It may cost me my chance of a life time to Antelope Hunt in Wyoming ... So yeah I hear where you are coming from ,,,, word of advice ... be cool tempered, and be very wary of confrontations ... Good Luck ..
Guest Mark_85
wow is all i can say. Hope everything turns out okay. But yea my dad had this same trouble with his ex wife. but luckily she ended up losing. So all turned out well. It's a shame that her mother can turn on her own daughter that quick just because a large amount of money is involved.
Guest Finn
Wow....no, that's never happened in my family. Best of luck!
ThethirdI
I would say that I can't even believe that a mother would do that to her daughter and her husband, but my mother-in-law has proven to me time and time again that not all mothers are created equal. My mother is like an angel and my mother-in-law is an angel of the darkest color. My wife has always asked me why she couldn't have a mother like mine. I always say that she can borrow her, but she's mine all mine!!!LOL:)
Swamphunter
If you re-arrange the letters in the words "Mother in-law", they spell "Woman Hitler"....
007hunter
Are you serious? This just blows my mind. How can ones mother sue their own daughter and sleep at night?
Hoosierbuck
Hopefully she is just hoping for a quick insurance settlement, which is still pretty crummy. If she goes after your personal assets, then she is lower than low. HB
nativetexan
I know this guy in Jersey....... That is absolutely the lowest of the lows. It amazes me the depths some people will go for a buck. I hope this turns out your way, and I pray that you get a judge who feels the same way we all do here. Some people just need to be poked with a stick and told to go back in their hole. Isn't there a statute of limitations on this scenario? Turkeygirl
Wow, that's crazy...though considering how she acted at the accident, maybe she did have a head injury...a permanent one! I'll pray everything works out!
archerjg
Sorry to hear that. I hope that things work out for you and will keep you and your family in my prayers. Archerjg
Nut
Nothing quite like family. I finally got my mother-in-law to move out. But she still costs me $.
LifeNRA
Doesn't sound much like a MOTHER if she is suing her daughter!!!
NiteRunner
Sounds crazy, hope you can get things worked out. Me and my family were sued by my dad's mother and brother, (my Grandmother and Uncle). Talk about low, they tried to get us kicked out of our house. The battle was over the family farm and it finally settled after 5+ years in court. Then this past Jan-Feb (we also have Natural gas lines tied in together) they shut off our source of heat and tried to freeze us out of our house! Then they've also threatened to shoot us, and others. They are one crazy bunch! I could go on and on about all the things they've done and tried to do. Heck, I could write a book about it all. Texan_Til_I_Die
You should inquire about the possibility of counter suing her mother for distracting her and causing the accident. It's amazing how quickly a lot of these suits get dropped when the tables are turned.
Adjam5
I hope it works out...Jeez! A mother suing her daughter! I just don't get it:confused:
RangerClay
Wow! That is unreal. How is your wife handling all this?? Does your Mother in-law understand that this will destroy what little relationship they have?
craig mack
Wow! That is unreal. How is your wife handling all this?? Does your Mother in-law understand that this will destroy what little relationship they have? My wife is embarrassed that its her mother doing this. Her mother has ruined her relationship with everyone of her kids at one time or another. She has 5 kids and I think maybe 2 even talk to her. I know that two of her three sons want nothing to do with her. All she see's is money but no matter how much money she gets she will still be a miserable person because thats what she is. I just dont see how she thinks she can sue when the whole time she has been saying that it wasnt my wifes fault.

stevebeilgard
If you re-arrange the letters in the words "Mother in-law", they spell "Woman Hitler".... now that's funny right there....:D where's hoosier buck when you need him:confused:.. take it easy, mac. sure, it seems real low and it may be. but, your mother in law had to sue her daughter to get at the insurance company. sure, it's low, but it seems like your mother in law is pretty shallow, too. so, basically, all she wants is the insurance money. she's just a money grabber who has an attorney. fact is, most of us have family just like that. i know, it sucks, and she sucks, but that's the way the money trail goes.... just another evil jerk looking for the quick buck. texastrophies
Look at the bright side, if she sue's the insurance company and win's, then that is just more inheritance for you when she kicks the bucket. :D:D Family feuds suck. Sorry to hear about it.
wtnhunt
Man that sounds like a really sad situation Craig. Don't know what kind of mother could sue her own daughter, the payday she is looking for at the expense of family would have me very irritated too. Pray everything works out for you and your wife.
