98chevy
Duck hunters or turkey hunters? Ive seen some crazy things from both but I think duck hunters are worse. Now I hunt private and public. Other then my neighbors baiting I have no porblems on private(My neighbors have been fined more then once) but I love hunting public land. The freezing boat ride and it seems like more of a challenge the variety its just fun. but then you get the buttheads that are mad cuss you woke up earlier or have the faster boat. It drives me up the wall. They either set up exactly 100yds away or keep driving in to check on you like they want see you leave. the worst is settingt up where the birds come from and shoot when there still 150ft up. to make sure they dont land. We have had duck hunters ram boats and catch people make shift blinds on fire. So theres my 2cents whats yalls

Predator
In October season here I have more problems with people kayaking for fun. I am talking a mile from the nearest launch in a saltwater marsh. Last year it was: "Me to partner: Ok here comes the buffleheads - get ready "-- "Hey Bud! you duck huntin'?" says the guy in a red kayak who just popped out behind me at a creekmouth. I was so shocked at the stupid question and the flared birds I just stared at him for a few seconds while standing with my shotgun. He got the message. I had a camoed jon boat and decoys out. Guess my set up was invisible? He picked up the pace a bit.
Guest b&c191
I've had more problems on public land with turkey hunters moving in on me than duck hunters.

Dakota
You sure you are dealing with other duck hunters. I have never heard such a thing. He's right, they could be anti-hunters in disguise! Never really had a problem, though. Dakota

Strut10
I'd say waterfowlers do some of the darndest things. I've not had much issue with other turkey hunters..........here & there yes.............but nothing like what a guy pulled on me in the goose field. I introduced a guy (who, at that time was my best buddy) to the sprt of goose hunting. Taught him what I knew and we (along with our wives) killed piles of honkers for several years. Well............he, evidently, turned "pro" in his own mind. So he had to get into a new circle of goose hunting buddies. No problem. Except they all come to the little honeyhole I first brought my (former) buddy to. Last time I went to hunt there (1st day 2006) my former buddy had 7 other guys with him and they had gotten there before 2:00 A.M........ just to be sure they got there before me. It's a small place. One group of 8 guys pretty much fills the area available. I went to set up off to the side and one of the guys comes over and tells me to move. Former buddy couldn't even face me. But, hey..............he's got a goose hunting spot. Funny thing is........these guys come in with a whole utility trailer full of rigging (it's got the requisite brand-name stickers on it and everything ). They sucked when it came to killing geese. The numbers of birds that came in should have meant a limit for all of them and I bet they only got a total of 6 geese. Oh, well. Live & learn. Don't ever show anybody your secret spots.............no matter who they are.
ildrhntr
AMEN! Strut I took a "friend" bowhunting with me on a piece of property several years ago that took me a long time to secure. He wounded more deer that fall. The following year I went to see the landowner before season like I do everywhere I have permission to hunt. He tells me that he allready gave permission to my "friend" and his uncle and all his buddies. That fall they pulled some real hijenks and still to this day NO ONE can get permission to hunt that ground.
Alisha
It's amazing what kind of stunts people will pull just out of jealousy or flat out stupidity. I've never been turkey hunting yet but I can only imagine some joker walking in on me while calling or something. While I've only been duck hunting a handful of times for sea ducks, Justin and I have had guys set up 100 yards or so up the coast from us where the ducks come from 90% of the time, just so they can get a shot at them before anyone else can. Sometimes, even shooting when the ducks are WAY out of range. Absolutely burns me up.
