AJ
Re: Remington offers double rifles! Agricultural, thats a good one! A $550 double rifle is obviously a top quality gun. HA. I am sure they are regulated to the same POI at 100 yards too. Why don't you get one and let us know what its like.
iron buck
Re: Remington offers double rifles! Here is what Remington says about the barrel regulation: [ QUOTE ] January 1, 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Spartan Gunworks™ Side-By-Side Rifles Offer Classic Styling at an Affordable Price Madison, NC - The Spartan Gunworks Model SPR22 side-by-side rifles combine modern technology and tradition to give sportsmen and women a fine hunting gun at a reasonable price. For 2005, two chamberings will be available in the new Model SPR22 series including .30-06 Sprg and .45-70 Govt. Instead of applying standard, expensive methods for double-rifle barrel regulation, these side-by-sides use an innovative technique to assist with the sighting in process. One barrel is fixed and can be sighted in by the shooter. Then, using the Model SPR22 adjustable barrel regulation system, a jackscrew located between the barrels adjusts the second barrel’s point of impact to the first one’s point of impact. The Model SPR22 rifles feature machined steel, mono block receivers, hammer-forged and chrome-lined 23.5-inch barrels, sling swivels and double triggers. Other attributes include adjustable iron sights, checkered walnut fore-ends and stocks with rubber butt pads, extractors and 11 mm Weaver-style scope rails. An auto safety is located on the receiver tang. Reasonably priced, this style of rifle that was once immensely popular among African hunters now offers American hunters sound medicine for varmints, whitetails or other big game. Suggested retail price: $559 [/ QUOTE ]

robk
Re: Remington offers double rifles! it is hard to say what kind of gun they are until you shoot one but i am interested enough to wonder how well they would shoot and ht eidea of the twin shooting rifle and how they can actually set them up to shoot the same as the main barrel is kind of like we had in soem ouf our guns in vietnam like the quad 50's and the vulcan cannon. pretty cool idea and i am sure the quality is such or the remington folks would not of signed a deal with them. should be an interesting gun and a lot of fun. as for accuracy you never know until you shoot them for a while and see how well they hold up but i bet remington put htem thru their paces nd more than most of use will shoot. looking forward to handling one and seeing hwo it shoots rob k
wtnhunt
Re: Remington offers double rifles! That is interesting. Got a catalog around here somewhere I think from savage or winchester or maybe both that has some shotgun rifle combos.
AJ
Re: Remington offers double rifles! Yep, Savage has had the model 24 out for over 50 years. Its easier to regulate a rifle barrel and have a shotgun barrel attached. If its off a few inches, it really does not matter. Getting two rifle barrels to hit the same POI at a given distance is tougher. Since both barrels are on different planes, they will not be parallel. The bullet paths will be more like an X. They will converge at a given point then, they will diverge at farther distances.
