mitrrophybowhunter
well it all depends on your budget. Their are some decent bows out there in the range of 250-350, like jennings and fred bear. The next range is 350-500 which alpine and parker are good IMO. and the 500-800 doaller range mathews and hoyt are amazing.

MadHuntinPastor
Re: what would be a good Bow for a newbie I love my Reflex Gamegetter!! For the price it shoots great and the proof is two deer in two years. I look forward to many more. About $250 for the bow only. (consider set up when buying a bow cuz you need arrows, sights, quiver, release, broadheads, rest, stabilizers and probably a target to shoot at) This stuff will run you at least another $200. Good luck and have fun shopping!!

archerjg
Re: what would be a good Bow for a newbie I would talk with a pro shop and shoot as many as possible and the one that fits you the best in the price range that you are willing to go is the best for you. Probably one with a higher brace height would be better until you get really comfortable with the bow and your shooting form is really nailed down. Mach1
Re: what would be a good Bow for a newbie My first and only bow so far is a PSE Nova. It was around $300-350 fully setup with all the necessities and some Easton arrows. I've had no problems with it at all in the 5 yrs. I've had it. It's not top of the line or at the bottom. It's done what I've needed it to do when I've needed it to do it. I think it's a good bow to start with because of price and quality. Switchback29A1
Re: what would be a good Bow for a newbie I got a brand new Hoyt MagnaTec for 380 and couldn't be happier. I would deffiently shoot everything you can and see what you like, this will help you determine exactly what your looking for and then it will be easier for you to make a good selection.
