Dakota Posted August 12, 2008 Report Share Posted August 12, 2008 Hey all, Just got some bad news about my dad (gobblerdad). He's been off at a two week long ARMY Officer Training Camp in Salt Lake City and got in an accident yesterday morning during transportation. They were in a canvas-topped ARMY truck and the driver lost control and almost rolled the vehicle. Luckily, there were no fatalities but seven people were taken to the hospital with numerous injuries including Dad. He and another soldier were the only two of the seven who weren't sent home because of their injuries. He was x-rayed for fractured ribs and the doctors have deduced that they are severely bruised and might yet be fractured still. That being said, he's now been bumped up to squad leader for today's street fighting training because the girl who was supposed to be the squad leader was sent home with a severe leg injury. Dad's not regular ARMY and is only in the Guard band, camp has been tough for him and, now with his injuries, he may yet be sent home before graduation on Friday and will have to repeat the whole thing all over again. Just please pray for his safety and strength the rest of this week. He's got to be extremely sore today and will need all the help he can get. Thanks for your prayers everyone.
