single-pin sights

They aren't quick to use but you'll never use the wrong pin. It's easier and more accurate at the in between distances too because you're holding dead on instead of floating the target in between pins. I went back to multiple pins though because as you target moves you need to float the pin or readjust as you range it again.

I have used a single pin sight for 4 years. Hold a bit high at 30 yards, but I got tired of compensating for the longer and in between shots. I just switched to a G5 optix 3 pin sight. The pins are much brighter than the TruGlo pin I had. Yes the simplicity is there to eliminate the confusion of what pin to use. I started shooting a bow with a pendulum sight which is why I went with a single pin sight on the Mathews.

I did not practice enough to remain consistent with the single pin. I have since become a Traditional shooter with no need for sights. The Outback is getting lonely.

I started with 3 pins and threw it away. less confusion with the adjustible 1 pin. The moment i get in the tree i set the pin for where the deer trail is or where they will most likely come through. If they dont come through at that distance i adjust the pin if i have time. If not, i compensate for how much higher or lower i have to aim

If your bow is fast enough, it will help if you use a 1 pin sight. Up until this year I had been using a 3 pin trophy ridge inline sight. I loved it! It made a huge difference in how much I was able to see, but this year I made a switch to the new Mathews DXT. Man What a Bow! I picked up a 1 pin sight for it. The only reason I did was knowing that my brother using a Mathews Switchback XT uses it. He set it at 25 yards and is only about 1/2" off at 30 yards. It does limit how far you can shoot in a moments notice, but as many has stated, you won't get confused at which pin to use when aiming! I have done this when target practicing before... not a good feeling. I would hate to have this happen with a deer in my sights. If I was to start shooting competition, then I would not use a 1 pin sight.

I have seen this sight on Bass pro's web site. It's a HIGH Dollar Sight, but if it works the way it says it does, it may be worth looking at.

Wi-Hunter... Have you used this sight yet?

I recently started shooting a one pin sight with a slider bar. I don't have much time to shoot with being on the road but that will change this time out. I'm leaving out tomorrow but I'm taking with me my new bag target and my bow and set-up kit. One thing I noticed is that there is usually a ton of space that I can shoot if only I get there early enough and park in a back row. This may also help to deter the criminal type and the lot lizards. Not many people will approach a man holding a bow especially when he's drilling X's at 40 yds. I'm of course not doing that yet but I hope to be doing it soon. LOL I'm liking the sight so far.
