Born4it
What technology or scent control method is involved with Rocky's Scent IQ apparel and accessories? I've been trying to find it on their site, and can't figure it out! Is it carbon, bacteria control, etc...? Thanks! Take care, Ryan
Born4it
I actually found in Deer and Deer Hunting that it's a specific treatment of the fabric that inhibits the growth of odor causing bacteria and traps/captures the existing bacteria. I was wondering because this stuff is much more affordable than the Scent Blocker or Scent Lok apparel. I've got Scent Blocker gloves, hats, and masks, but never bit the bullet with the entire suit. The Scent IQ long underwear makes more sense though. Any input is appreciated, but I guess I found my answer! Thanks! Ryan
HUNTINGMAN
I gave my SB suit away last fall,I may have to look into the rocky stuff.Does anyone have any experience with it and does it work as well.
wtnhunt
Really do not know much about the rocky scent iq stuff. Some manufacturers are selling their products with scent reducing or eliminating treatments, the Irish Setter boots I bought for my wife last fall have what they call "scent ban". Born4it
Put in my order on basspro.com yesterday. Tried it on at the actual store (didn't have my size), but it seems very comfortable and warm! Hopefully the scent control works well! I'll try to remember to do a small review on it after I get out there a few times. Take care, Ryan
RockyGear
Rocky ScentIQ Gear Just in case anyone else is still curious on how this works you can check out the below link ROCKY Scent Proof Gear - Scent Control Hunting Clothes. It is a bacteria control. Rocky scent IQ is a chemical finish that is impregnated into the actual fibers so it does not need any regenerating the way carbon treatments need. You can forget the dryer, special laundry detergent and sprays since it reacts with the body’s bacteria to reduce and eliminate human odor. Happy Hunting! snapper
Sorry...but I don't waste money on scent clothing. There was an article in a mag that I found interesting...basically...they did three runs with a human and a police dog. First the guy did no scent control and the dog circled downward and found him in less than a min.The second run was him wearing scent clothing...dog again found him less than a min. Last run was all the scent control you can do...shower...Landry ...sprays etc... dog still found him in less than a min.Not sure the difference in a dogs nose and a deer...but take it for what its worth. dbHunterNY
i have scentblocker stuff. i think it may help a little and only give you a second or two for the deer to think about things. something is better than nothing. i mainly got the stuff because of it's fit and function. my fiancee has the scent IQ jacket and pants. she bought them because she said they fit well and felt like she was wearing soft comfy pjs. scent reduction was an added plus. as i said though i think it does buy you a little time, but you're still busted. if you smell something that stinks a little and then something that smells worse, then you're still smelling it. However, your reaction is different. to a certain point, you react quicker the more something smells.
tallone
Not sure about the scent iq although i do own some of it but one thing I know about rocky clothes is they last. I've had the same outfits for the last 5 to 8 years and they still look great compared to others that faded out after the first season or two worth of washing. And the fact that most of their clothes are waterproof makes them my number one pick when i buy new stuff.
