Hoyt03
usually last few days of August into the first week or two in Sept around here. Usually get a few in the shedding velvet process on camera
Zambo
Three weeks to go here before the first bucks will start to shed velvet. Maybe a week left to grow and a couple weeks to harden.

Sherk's Guide Service
I live in northwest Pennsylvania. The earliest I have ever found a rub was Aug. 18. That was why I asked the question. Here in this part of PA, I have seen bucks out of velvet at this time. Not all, but older bucks will start to shed and rub right now. Remember, if you see a rub this early, it's a good buck. Keep your eyes open.
wtnhunt
A bit away from them losing their velvet here yet, usually happens mid to late September here. Saw two 2.5 year old bucks yesterday afternoon, both still in velvet.

Born4it
Thanks for the advice about seeing rubs now and it being a good one...never really put that together! I'll have to pay extra attention to that when I get out again. Thanks, Ryan
coondog
Last weekend I saw a nice mature tall rack buck still in velvet around a local lake was takeing my kids fishing 5 and 7 they really enjoyed the encounter. Here in Oklahoma its usually around early to mid septembr but with recent cool spell wouldn't be surprised if a few younger bucks didn't
