Adjam5
Well, I just helped my son load his gear and clothes as he is off for the Great state of Georgia for some hog hunting and cat fishing near Savannah for 10 days! Joe will be hunting with a buddy of mine(Chad), A true American Hero that just came home from Iraq finishing his 2nd tour. The 1st was in Afghanistan 12 months and he is now done with his 15 month tour in Iraq and is almost home free out of the Army. He will be working for a Georgia sheriff's dept soon. I think Clark county. Chad is quite the hunter...He has 11 P&Y deer under his belt! They will be hunting Fort Stewart and some Islands off the coast. I should have daily contact with Joe and I will keep everyone posted of their action. They are driving down ( have a safe trip) and Joe will be flying back up on the 26th. Lucky dog:p I wish I could go with them:( I love hunting with my son...sniff sniff now he's gone away ...to hunt with someone else...sniff.. sniff. I knew this day would come... when he would spread his wings and hunt with someone else...sniff... sniff. Hunt safe and shoot straight son, show 'em what Dad taught ya;) Our house is the one with the blue pick up in the driveway.

RangerClay
Wishing Joe a safe trip and success hunting! btw! With all of the woodchuck and chipmunk killing that goes on in your backyard, I envisioned your home in a more rural setting.
Adjam5
Wishing Joe a safe trip and success hunting! btw! With all of the woodchuck and chipmunk killing that goes on in your backyard, I envisioned your home in a more rural setting. We have permission from neighbors to take care of the critters and our yards back up to a huge mature White Oak flat and old railroad bed and old reservoir with no access...no access unless you live there;) We are 40 miles north of NYC. This is still considered a shotgun county to DEC:eek:. We are bow only around here. I spoke to Joe a while ago, and they hit a load of traffic in the DC area and are in West Va having Elk steaks for lunch with another hunter friend. They will be off for Savannah headed down 95 soon. Adjam5
Spoke to Joe last night, they stopped at a Wendy's for a bite in N.C., and they saw a girl tapping Chads car window trying to get the mounted Bobcat to move around! She thought it was still alive! The whole car is full of game mounts he picked up from his moms house and this poor girl did not know the difference. Good Taxidermist is all I can say. They made it there safely. This is no AKSheephuntress voyage for sure:), but it is the 1st time Joe has been out of state on his own for 10 days. But this is my 1st born and I am a bit nervous...Ahhh he'll be OK. Sorry I just can't stop being a Dad.

Adjam5
Got a call from Joe, he shot a small hog. The thing was strolling towards him down a trail and he sat it down with a head shot at 15 yards from a .35 Remington:). Small moving target...nice shot! The pic was sent from a I Phone. The weather was horrible. They had fun. They are hunting Ft. Stewart tomorrow.

Squirrelhunter91
Hey everyone...just checkin in real quick on chads iphone...I missed an armadillo before with the .22lr or I hit him and he made it to his hole. No blood as it was rainin pretty bad and tropical storm fay is expected to dump close to a foot of rain on savannah so hunting might be stopped for a few days. The only good thing about the rain is that the hogs will head to higher ground and be concentrated. Gotta go.. Dinner time

Adjam5
Any new updates??? Todd, he came home with great stories and some wild pork too:D He shot a small hog the 2nd day he was there, and they were constantly getting chased by Tropical Storm Fay. They got in some hunting, but the weather made it especially tough. None the less, he got to hunt with a American hero. My pal Chad, fresh back from 2 tours( one 12 month in Afghanistan and one 15 month in Iraq) in the sandbox, see Georgia, hunt Fort Stewart, and Joe thinks he wants to go the UGA. Many lovely ladies he says. Nothing about the academics...all he spoke of was the young ladies..Ahhh to be 16 again:D I don't want to steal Joes thunder. He needs to post the pics of his trip. Davet, thank you for that compliment. My boys were brought up in the outdoors and I get mushy:rolleyes: every time they do something good in the woods.
