craig mack
I have the second pick in a 12 team league. We get a point for every 15 passing yards, a point for every 10 rushing yards, a point for every 10 yards receiving, and 6 points for td's. Who would you take? jaret
I have a fantasy league with some friends at work. But for my first pick I took Adrian Peterson. This is his second season and he says he's learned a lot from his rookie season to wait patiently for holes to open up instead of looking for the "home run". But I lucked out with getting him and Chester Taylor . But as for qbs if he's still there, Tom Brady is probably the best to pick. He throws a lot and gets you a lot of yard points. But if he's not available, maybe consider Tony Romo of Dallas.
craig mack
LT. If LT is still there I think thats a no-brainer. But I think he will be picked #1. I like Adrian Peterson but one of his top O-Lineman is gonna miss the first 4 games and he gets injured like every other year. I like to take my RB's first but I may just go out and pick Brady. MCH
LT or AP. No-brainer right now.
c_lou
Hello 6pts for TD?... That makes the #2 pick Tom Brady. While he probably won't throw 50 TD's again, I bet he throws at least 35.
muggs
If you get 6 points for passing TDs, that really increases QBs value in your league. In our league, we only give 3 points for passing TDs so RBs are the main focus of our drafts. At #2, I'd say Brady or Peyton is the pick- depending on how many points INTs take away from them. If you want to go runningback, AP is my #2 back. We can sit here and think of ways to detract from him, but bottom line, that guy is sickly good. He'll have a great year. Plus, there's the Steven Jackson holdout, Westbrook is getting old, and I just don't see anyone else you can put up there.
Jorden
I think that early in the first round you have to go runningback.
muggs
I think that early in the first round you have to go runningback. Normally I'd agree with that, but if you're getting 6 points for TDs across the board for passing/rushing/receiving QBs take on a whole other level of value that they don't in most leagues. Brady is easily going for 30 TDs thins year and so is Peyton. That's 180 points in TDs right there alone not even considering the points they'll get for yardage. To me, I think Brady should even be considered with the #1 in a league structured that way. The only thing you'd have to consider is how many points are deducted for INTs. If it's significant, that might change my mind, but if it's only 1 or 2. I'm taking Brady 2nd...especially with all the ?'s every RB has (with the exception of LT). MCH
You make a good point Muggsy, but you've got to take into consideration the number of quality players at that position. Brady, Manning, Brees, Favre, etc. all have the chance of putting up huge TD numbers. There's not many RB's that have the potential of LT and AP. I'd be very happy with getting AP with my first pick and then picking up Manning with my 2nd but in reality, Brees or Favre will be most likely. To me, Brady and Peyton stand alone. You might want to put Romo in that group with that offense and that coordinator, but to me, there's no way anyone will out score Brady. Heck, I had Brady last year, we only get 3 points for passing TDs and he still out scored everyone except LT. If I would have got 6 points for passing TDs he's the #1 point getter by a landslide. And AP- to go all Denny Green on ya- if you're want to crown, than crown his arsh. But he'll be facing stacked boxes and he hasn't shown he can stay healthy...he took his lumps for 4 years of college too. That's a young man with a lot of miles, and a lot of past physical problems. Don't get me wrong, I think AP is the most dynamic runningback we've seen in a long time, but he's a bigger injury risk than almost any runningback. Not to mention, Brady has started more consecutive games than anyone since Favre. To me, at #2, Brady's my pick. btw- I know what you're trying to do by throwing Favres name in there, but I'm not biting.

c_lou
I hate it when I have to agree with Muggsy, but the kid has the only arugment on this subject. Unless INTs cost you 10 points, I would take Brady at #2. Manning may even be #3. I think he is going to want to prove something after what Brady did last year. The more you agree with me, the more often you'll sound like you know what you're talking about. Like I said, I'm usually about 12-18 months ahead of the curve so it takes you guys a while to catch on. Anyway, more food for thought on Adrian Peterson. Sure, he had two monster 200 yard games, but he also had 7 games of 70 yards of less and in those same 7 games had only 1 TD TOTAL. Not to mention, Chester Taylor is a good back who could start for a lot of NFL teams. I don't think he'll take as many carries away from AP this year as he did last year, but he'll get his share. AP is a freak, I just don't think he's should be #2 overall. In any league. It's a very, very big gamble especially when you have Brady getting 6 points per TD and is almost a guaranteed starter week in and week out. buckbuster11
And Peterson has gotten hurt in each of the last 3...maybe 4 (can't remember)....seasons he has played going back to college. I agree with muggsy. Lots of people are going to be taking AP #1 or #2 and I'll be waving to those people from the top at the end of the season. craig mack
INT's are -2 and sacks are -1. Here is the list of the top point getters from last year in my league. Tom Brady - 493pts Tony Romo - 360pts Peyton Manning - 324pts Brett Farve - 309pts Derek Anderson - 300pts Drew Brees - 296pts L.T. - 295pts Randy Moss - 288pts I will be going with Brady if he is available or Manning if Brady is gone.
