snapper
Need to find a value of a model 94 commemorative. Not 100% but I believe its a Win. md. 94 (no idea of cal.) "International Assoc. of Machinist" (IAM). It either has a medalion in the stock or its stamped in the stock? Have no idea of how many were made...all I know is its a friend of a friend whose husband passed away a few years back and she's trying to find a value of this gun. Maybe for sale...I dunno. Any help?
Leo
Get the serial number and enter it here. http://armscollectors.com/sn/winlookup.php?file=win1894.dat
snapper
Thanks Leo...but that link didn't help much because the gun has a very low serial number because its a commemorative...it has the letters IAM in front of the serial number and that link won't accept letters. The # is IAM0XXX and when I put just the numbers in...it tells me the gun was manufactured in 1894...I think thats wrong because of it being a commemorative and being a model 94AE (Angle Eject). Here's what else I know about the gun...the model 94AE, silver furniture (reciever, lever, saddle ring). Red, White, and Blue box, crafted by Proudmemers of Victory Lodge 609 Winchester. On the right reciever engraved are the I.A.M. crest, an airplane, Locomotive, and a person sitting at a computer. On the left engraved is the I.A.M. crest with the wording "110 years of dedicated service 1888-1998". On the right side of the stock there is a bronze colored medallion of the I.A.M crest embedded. I still can't find any info. on this gun...esp. a value?
hangunnr
Gregg, Here's a link to a '94 on GunBroker. This one kinda sounds similar to what you have. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=107667430 I realize it's not the same as what you have but it might give you a ballpark number to work with. IMO your gun would have more value to a member of the machinist union than a regular guy. hangunnr
snapper
Yeah it would be worth more prob. to a machinist union member or a big collector. Pretty sure the lady wants to sell it...but she's afraid of "giving" it away, and I can't seem to help find any info on this gun. Thanks fellas.
