wildthing
Fellas / gals I am heading out to Idaho on my first ever bow Elk hunt. Pretty pumped up! My question is this...should I stick with a fixed blade broad head or would a mechanical (like say a Rage 2 blade) be a good broad head to use? I know elk hide is thicker than a deer...that is why I am indecisive at this point. All input is welcome!
Gator
If it were me I'd go with a good sharp fixed blade
MCH
Buddy of mine is headed out on his first elk hunt at the end of the month. He's done a lot of research and has decided on Muzzy's. From what he's read, mechanicals will work but there's too many "if's" for him.
Jeramie
Muzzy for me too. I know mechanicals will do the job these days but you simply cant malfunction with a fixed blade. Muzzy has been been to me since I started shooting them.

Tecumseh
Good luck on your hunt I'd go with a fixed head.
wildthing
thanks for all the insight. I shoot Muzzy's now and have been since I started archery hunting years ago. By the sounds of it...I should stick with them for my elk hunt.
