Guest DaHunter
Hey everyone i am new too reloading, never even seen it done but i am very interested in learning how too. Can anyone help me out with a good suggestion for which reloader too buy. I would like too get everything in a kit, that way i can just read the manual and give it a try. I would like too stay within the 300 dollar price range if possible. I would like too reload 10 and 12guage shells 3.5 inch only, steel shot, lead and hevi-shot maybe. Anyways i would like too find someting that is do able but i have no clue where too start! i have been looking but have no clue what tools i need. Anything you can tell me would be great! thanks
AJ
Re: Shot shell reloader? I recommend the MEC Steelmaster. You can get a die set in the other gauge if you want to reload both 10 and 12 ga. Its going to be a little more involved than getting a kit, reading the instructions, and start cranking out ammo. I suggest you visit Ballistic Products Web Page and take a look at some of their stuff. They have some reloading and data manuals that will give you the proper recipes of ingredients for each of the loads you want to create. There are different manuals for Hevi Shot, steel shot, and lead.
carbonhunter
Re: Shot shell reloader? I have two steelmasters, very good re-loaders cant complain so far I'm re-loading 16 and 12 guage shells. That said I just bought a Ponsnence(sp) & Warn so that i can do more guages without breaking down the rep. dye's.

too_pointer
Re: Shot shell reloader? I have owned 2 MEC realoaders, both were the sizemasters. 1 20 ga., the other 12 ga. They worked great for a single stage reloader. too_pointer

AJ
Re: Shot shell reloader? DaHunter, Nope, it can not do 10 ga or will it even do 3" let alone 3.5" 12 ga. About the best you can do with that one is target or field loads. Here is info on the 76 Grabber.

AJ
Re: Shot shell reloader? Hey Moser, You guys do make a good product at MEC. I use a 9000G and I am thinking about getting another for 20 ga. Its easier than setting up the dies every time I want to load a new gauge. I do feel that MEC loaders are the best bang for teh buck in the shotgun world. There are faster machines on the market that cost a lot more but overall you guys have a good product. What do you think of the new primer feed for the proggressive presses? That was THE drawback to the 9000G or 9000H was the primer tray/feed. How many does the new design hold? After I get a few reports on the unit, I may get one for my press.
