I have been working on some loads for my 270wsm. I got my groups tight at 100 and started working on my drop chart.

So far the longest groups on paper I have shot are at 650 yards this is as far as the range close to my house has lines for: We have placed steel gongs from 700-969 yards. The best loads I have come up with so far are:

Rem brass, RL22, Federal 215 primers, Berger ULD 150g, 2.84 OAL. I was seeing around 3250-3260 on the chrono and are averaging at 1.5 moa at 650 yards. Thats 9.8 clicks up on the scope.

Using, Rem brass, US869, Federal 215 primers, 169.5 RBBT, an OAL .005 off the lands I am seeing 3200-3225 fps on the chrono and am averaging .80 moa at 650 yards thats 9.1 clicks.

I have also tried rem brass, US869, Fed 215 primers, 195g RBBT, again .005 off the lands I am seeing 2900-2950 fps, and average group of .90 moa at 650 yards thats 11 clicks. (shooting the 969 yard 36" gong I was putting 3 rounds in a 11" group, 15.9 clicks)

All of my averages are using 3 shot groups. The wind was less than 5mph when it was blowing it was from right to left. My scope is an IOR 4-14X50 mil dot with a Ken farrell 20 moa base and burris tactical rings. My rangefinder is the swaro my spotting scope is a optolyth 20-60X80 tbs. I had my brother spotting for me and helping call hits.

I am getting ready to order a custom .277am from Kirby Allen. When I get it I will be consistantly shooting 1500-2000 yards.
