buckee
Re: A Realtree.com Proposition Team Realtree Administrator Re: 2005 Realtree vacation meet ? [ QUOTE ] Perhaps a state park that has lodging. They are usually not that expensive and have lot's of open space. It is my suggestion that a map is looked at and the locations of the members. I know it can't be close for everyone, but it needs to be a central location. A good knowledge of where the majority of folks that could come would dictate this. You could print out a map, divide it into regions. As folks commit, mark where they are from. As those marks add up, you would get an idea of which direction to go with the location. That location would need to cheat toward the most populated group of users. The reason being is you need to make it easily accessible for the largest number of folks. I know that stretches it for folks on the other end, but it's the only fair way to do it. It would also be good to plan for a long weekend type trip, say Thursday through Sunday or Monday. This does two things: It limits the amount of time that has to be taken off from work and it gives folks who would have to fly a break (Saturday night over stays can cut a fair by as much as 1/4). On that same subject, you might want to have it in easy reach of a major airport also. This is not an easy thing. [/ QUOTE ]

texastrophies
Re: A Realtree.com Proposition Ought to have a sticky put on this thread so it will stay at the top, I had forgotten about it. I think Texas is big enough to hold everybody and it is pretty well centered in the US (east to west anyways). There is a nice park not to far from Houston. Sure would be nice not to have to drive a 1000 miles to get there.

Team Realtree
Re: A Realtree.com Proposition Not yet Tim. Like the previous posts have said, it will take some work and planning. What will have to happen is a place will have to be agreed upon, well in advance, and folks will need to get there. S
Ambuscher
Re: A Realtree.com Proposition I think we should meet at Bass Pro's home town. Springfield MO. Tablerock Lake has a very nice state park in the near by Branson MO, and several places in Branson itself. You all could make it a two birds with one stone and bring your BOSSES to the great Branson MO.
Guest beardsNspurs
Re: A Realtree.com Proposition Yea count me in. I'm in MO, right in the corner. Real close to IA and IL. Anywhere is fine. Sounds like a great plan!! Maybe after we get an idea of where everyone is located we could come up with 2 or 3 "final" spots and then all involved could vote on one of those choices. Would make it fair all the way around I'd think if done that way
popgun
Re: A Realtree.com Proposition Great idea, I'm in. The BPS headquarters at Springfield, MO sounds great. We once had a huge motorcycle rally at the Lady Bird Johnson State park near Fredericksburg, TX. That is also a great location. The location brought in the largest group we had ever had. The demographics of our motorcycle group was very similar to those we share here in the forums. The success of this will depend on the location, location, location. I just thought I'd comment on this to see if it would bring this post back to the top. I think this topic needs more discussion and ideas. ....popgun

KANSAN
Re: A Realtree.com Proposition Heck why don't we have it at my place?? I live in Northwest Kansas, only 60 miles from the geographical center of the United States. There's a state park five miles from town, where I work during the summer. They've even got an outdoor archery range, with targets out to 50 yards. There's no cabins there, but they have EXCELLENT campsites and you can reserve in advance. If you don't want to camp there, motels in town are an option. We could have an archery shoot, and we could even get some tables and you could come over to our house for a big BBQ and look at some deer mounts & sheds. I've got a huge yard! I could get the ball rolling if you think this would be an option, and plan at the State Park for next summer. What do you think? My wife & I would be more than happy to have it here. You could even bring some equipment and do some bowfishing out at the lake, with a 24-hour fishing license. There are a ton of carp!! Since I work there during the summer, it would be easy planning!!
