texastrophies
Finally got around to setting up my new 14'x16' Wall Tent. I went out to my parents ranch, so I would have some room, and not much of an audience. It was interesting, glad I decided to do this ahead of time instead of waiting till I got to Colorado. Have a lot of pictures and will give a narrative of the event. :D:D First pic. Laying out the frame Next two are the top of the frame put together. Now I have unfolded the tent for the first time and layed it across the top of the frame. Next three I have added the legs to the frame, looking good, except for one minor detail I haven't figured out yet.:( Now I have got the sides pulled down, door opened up and the fly on top. Really feeling good, got to this point in less than an hour. :D:D OOPS, I can't open the windows, the zippers are on the outside???????????? Oh, I put in on INSIDE OUT, or upside down &%^&*)^)#$%# This is really disheartening. So I went and got me a chair and just sat down to cool off, did I mention it was about 95 degrees. Well, I decided I really needed to do it right, so here we go, tearing it down. :( Going back up, the right way. Set back up, right, finally. Tent with fly on, I didn't completely stake it down but it looks pretty good. final 2 pics of the inside. Thanks for looking if you made it this far. :D:D

Guest Colorado Bob
Make sure you hose it down. It will shrink. I had to shorten up all the poles on mine by several inches. Looks alot like mine-----Mine is 12x14x5 side walls. My frame is 1" electricial conduit---good & strong. It's had 2' of Colorado snow on it before. Good luck elk hunting this year. elkoholic
Nice looking tent. Wall tents are great for a base camp. Don't skimp on the cots for sleeping and we always put a tarp down to help keep things a little cleaner. One little note, I did not see a stove pipe hole in the rain fly, and that might cause an issue once you set up camp for real. Also, as Colorado Bob stated, give that thing a good soaking and once dry spray on some water proofing, concentrating on the seams. Excellent stove choice. Now, let's go hunting! The fly is just a regular poly tarp, I marked it to cut out a hole for the stove pipe. Yeah, I am ready to go my self, but have to wait till Nov., although I am going to Utah scouting next weekend. :D:D

Randy
Thast's awesome! We used to stay in a wall tent in Arkansas for duck hunting. I am looking at buying a Big Horn III tent and I saw in Cabelas they make a stove that runs on pellets. They say the stove should last around 6-7 hours on 20#. It also burns wood. Now you went and got me all excited and I'm broke...
